Former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund manager, Thomas Tuchel, has shed light on the reason behind his decision to leave Bayern Munich.
The club and the manager confirmed their parting of ways at the end of the current season, following a recent string of poor performances.
In a statement to reporters on Saturday, Tuchel explained, “We were not able to consistently elevate the team to a higher level. That’s why we’re going separate ways in the summer. Mistake accepting Bayern job? It makes no sense to look back. It gets forgotten that we were extremely unlucky with injuries too.”
This reveals that Tuchel believes the inability to consistently improve the team’s performance led to the mutual decision to part ways.
Additionally, he emphasized that looking back and questioning the decision to accept the Bayern job is not productive, considering the challenges, including significant injuries, that the team faced during his tenure.
